Family Strengthening Resources
Family strengthening is something Florida Adoption Center loves to help with. We strive to help families to become strong, thriving, and accomplished. Without supportive people, life can become very hard. Sometime people need help and do not know where to turn. Many people, live from pay check to pay check and have no room for a disaster in their financial life. Sometimes intimate partner violence becomes a way of life. Some suffer from depression. Others are unable to work and provide for their children because of a lack of child care, or lack of education.
Here at FAC we can assess your needs and see how we can connect you directly to help and resources. Do you need job training to learn new skills to help you get a better-paying job? Are you in need of health insurance, substance abuse treatment, or a primary care Doctor? Do you need help applying for Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)? Do you already have other children, and this pregnancy is adding to your financial or family stress? Are you struggling every day?
If this is a first-time pregnancy, do you know where to go to get a pregnancy test or an ultrasound? Are you interested in parenting and childcare classes? Do you need baby supplies? If the father of the baby is not involved do you know how to go about getting child support?
We understand how frustrating it can be trying to find and get access to resources which is why we put together this list of local community resources. We hope you will find it helpful.
If you are pregnant and need assistance navigating through the Social Service system to get the help you need, please call us at 321-250-5683.
